Let’s consider that there are economic systems between balls to the wall capitalism as we see today, and a tankie unicorn land.

Capitalism is absolutely destroying everything it touches to make people with capital richer. This is undeniable and has been documented over and over again.

Let’s be dumb here : I’d rather have the proletariat profit from the destruction of the planet instead of a select few people.

The sole goal of capitalism is to make more capital for the capital holder. Everything that can be monetized will be monetized, and everything that can be monetized will be diluted and dismantled until only a carcass is left to be thrown on the street.

It’s literally an insatiable parasitic machine.

See my other comment, but you’re describing a Socialist ideal working as designed, but Capitalism off the rails as it was not designed. It’s not even a fair comparison.

Someone making an argument for a turd sandwich versus a turkey sandwich since it technically is still a sandwich by name is a foolish argument to prove a point because nobody is going to choose a turd sandwich.

It is a fair comparison. Capitalism by its base statement posits that everyone benefits when everyone acts selfishly for their own gain. That everyone has the same access to Capital and opportunity. All statements which are bullshit on the face of it. If there was ever a moment those statements were true it is not this current moment.

Now I’m not some inflexible ideologue. I acknowledge that ideals are ideal and not real. But I can be honest and acknowledge that Society working to make sure that everyone is relatively equal and has access to the same benefits is by nature much better ethos then gambling that some Invisible Hand of the market will be fair.

Monopoly/Oligarchy is the consequence of capitalism.

Not sure why this is such a controversial opinion to you?

I mean, are we not in a gilded age right now with mega corpos engulfing as much as they can to make more money than last year?

Politicians are dismantling any semblance of regulation so that corpos can buy back their shares and hoard an ever increasing gold pile

In a perfect world, capitalism would be reigned in and allowed to exist under limited conditions in a limited capacity because companies have fucked us over and over unscrupulously for the sake of making more money and they cannot be trusted.
