Deepfake technology can make convincing replicas from a limited amount of data, and the show has 30 years worth of audio to work from.
I don’t think I’ve purposely tuned in since the early 00’s. Has the show held up?
It’s sucked for a long time but the last couple seasons are actually not bad. They removed a lot of the internal ‘rules’ in the show bible for how to write the characters and that’s really paid off in the story telling. I’ve really enjoyed some of the newer plots that focus on background characters that have been a part of the show for decades, but whose lives haven’t been explored yet.
I think some of the new ones are good (homer becomes crosswalk guard/marge unionizing), but not every one is a hit.
