Summary

Masked neo-Nazis marched through Columbus, Ohio’s Short North neighborhood on Saturday, displaying swastika flags and making racist and antisemitic statements.

Police are investigating, and no arrests have been reported.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Columbus officials condemned the display, emphasizing that hate and bigotry have no place in the state.

The incident follows a similar demonstration in Michigan last week, where masked protesters displayed Nazi flags outside a performance of The Diary of Anne Frank.

but if they shoot you for throwing paint then there’s going to be a big crackdown on them

They’re armed because they’re looking to provoke a situation where they can commit murder and call it self defense.

In a normal legal system that would be provocation of self-defense state, which would cause the act of defending to be limited to actual defense but would require extensive acts of mitigating the threat in non-violent ways.

Yes, but these are nazis, so it’s not like the sympathetic legal system is going to do anything. Also, these are nazis, so they’re not very bright.

They’re marching in the hopes that someone will attack them in a fashion they cannot reasonably flee from? Or does Ohio have stand your ground and we could knock the part about fleeing off?

Ohio doesn’t require fleeing. All they have to say is that they thought someone was in danger to use lethal force. They could still be charged and it’d be up to ba jury. I don’t think they’d do very well with a jury though. But somebody is still dead.

They are marching in the hopes that someone will do anything even slightly untoward that they can interpret as a threat and open fire. They’re confident that they will get a piece of shit judge like Rittenhouse got.

Or does Ohio have stand your ground and we could knock the part about fleeing off?

Do you suppose that they are legal scholars?
