Don’t put any faith in that. Trump lies as reliably as he breathes. Which is, on both counts, unfortunately far more than it should be.

Also, Putin owns him. Russian TV broadcasting nude photos of his wife drove that point home: that Trump may fume and rage all he likes, but Russia has enough leverage to ensure that he’ll obey.

Maybe it’s the legendary Pee Tape, and maybe it isn’t. By now, they undoubtedly have an entire laundry list of kompromat that they can pick and choose from.

I wondered the other day - what possible kompromat could they have that gives them any leverage now? He won’t be prosecuted, and his base evidently does not care (and won’t matter as much now that he’s been reelected), so even if they have video evidence of murder or CSA, I don’t see it harming him…

Footage from Epstein Island? Some of those girls were apparently very young.

Also, proof that he gave lists of CIA agents to Russia. I’m sure Russia could produce that proof, quite possibly with videos of these American patriots being tortured to death. (Conservative America hasn’t formally decided that treason is OK, it has only decided that “nah-nah-I can’t hear you”.)

But what exactly would happen? Would the AG he picks prosecute? Would Congress impeach and convict? I can’t see it happening, no matter what evidence is leaked or officially published. Would the base leave him and lose him leverage over primaries and elections? Honestly, I don’t think so, as that would require his supporters to accept negative information about him, and so far they’ve been fairly impervious…
