Let’s pick ourselves up
Apparently no clean sheets in 6 — I mean, to be fair, we keep having to switch up the back four. But my word we need to fix up.
Tbh this game has been making me realise just how much White does for us. Ødegaard also obviously a big miss.
From Mikel’s press conference:
Do you have any regrets on your actions at Newcastle last year? M: That’s part of the past and part of the situation that happened. You learn from it and you take a lot of positives as well. We moved on. Do you think your comments worked? M: My intention is not that the comments worked. I had to say what I felt on the day. Have the standards of refereeing improved? M: They are certainly trying their best.
I’m fully prepared to get fucked back to back.
The man has principles
I swear, this club and the manchester blue cunts are the worst clubs in the fucking world.
Don’t forget Chelshit.
eh, they’re just funny rn. Under Roman, yes; now, they’re just trying to do a Leeds. Still cunts but not at “worst in the world” levels.
I miss Ødegaard.
We don’t gel the same way without him.
the commentary talking about us being good at stats and still losing the title last season. brother that’s cuz city bought the fucking refs man
you know it’s bad though when even Saka doesn’t look much up for it.
aghhh so close for Rice.
Certainly feels like White wasn’t meant to play today from his passing so far.
Seems like half our team is carrying an injury. They all look like they need a 4 week vacation to recover.
Turns out playing 2 90s with 10 men means everyone is shattered already.
I am not happy with Trossard. Though to be fair none of the attackers are getting any joy.
Also, why is it that, upon winning an aerial duel, 75% of the time it just goes straight back to the opposition? Do we have shit aim?
Feels like we’ve had the wrong side of the green for most of this season so far.
And it’ll continue because no one wants to admit that the league is fucked.
fuck.
Well that was a dog shit performance from us for the entirety of that first half. Absolutely and utterly not good enough. Our second half and the three points all depend on how brave Arteta can be. Otherwise our title hopes are looking like they’re gonna slip away.
I expect Liverpool and City to win, if we lose here that’s a hefty gap that I don’t feel like we’ll be able to close.
If we lose here it’s basically over. There’s no way we can expect City to drop that many points. And Newcastle have been woeful this season, there’s no reason not to beat them
tbf St James is always a hard game just cuz of the stadium but like. yeah no we are disappointing. And that’ll be two losses in a row in the league.
That’s the thing, though, Newcastle have been terrible all season. So of course they revive themselves for when we come to town.
City drew here and this was a chance to finally make up some points, and we’re squandering it.
Playing with 10 men has decimated our squad on top of international injuries. Both things that we really need to address in future.
how do we address the first thing, pay refs?
If we’re really not going to win the league, then I think we need to hammer the refs. Call out every incident. Take the fines. We can’t pay off the refs - we’d need to outbid Qatar.
Doesn’t happen too often but we’re actually worse than last season.
For the first stretch, red cards were the issue. Now it’s the injuries. We had a lot of luck last season that we have completely lost.
yeah, this game might be the first time that I’ve felt like we can’t win the league this season.
Not Bournemouth? We looked pretty terrible even before the red. And I was very sure that losing Saliba for Liverpool would have knock-on effects, which I’m pretty sure we’re seeing now.
Nah, I didn’t, honestly. Cuz we had that Liverpool game right after, and we could just use that to catch up — and then we drew, but even then it felt more hopeful as a match.
