Straight from the Ayatollah’s rhetoric, thought that sounded familiar.

    https://5pillarsuk.com/2024/10/04/ayatollah-khamenei-calls-for-muslim-unity-in-fight-against-israel/

Iran’s leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, addressed Friday prayers in Tehran today, calling for Muslim unity in response to the atrocities committed by the Israeli regime, which he characterised as America’s “rabid dog” in the region.

    https://www.tehrantimes.com/news/498130/A-call-for-Hajj-of-disavowal

“The savage attacks of the rabid Zionist dogs on one side, and the resistance and oppression of the Gazans on the other side, will remain in history and guide mankind. The amazing and unprecedented effect that it has had in non-Islamic societies and universities of the U.S. and other countries, are proof of its history-making and significant nature.”

There may be a simpler explanation; it may be that Iran’s ultimate authority harbors a vicious, conspiratorial, wicked — and oh yes, erroneous — view of the West. In fact, I made this same case back in November, when Khamenei presaged the signing of the interim nuclear accord with a scorching denunciation of the United States and Israel, in which he not only described the Israeli leadership as a “rabid dog” but also argued that Washington’s bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki postdated the war’s end and was merely an excuse to test nuclear weapons on civilians.

I mean… I don’t … is this supposed to make him look bad? Cuz all of that is true? He isn’t even saying anything bad in those quotes?

But also… rabid dog is a pretty normal metaphor for something you’re supposed to be in control of that attacks everything around it so like…. Eh.

I 100% understand the backdrop to these quotes. There is nothing good there.

        https://www.memri.org/reports/iranian-supreme-leader-ali-khamenei-tweets-death-israel-seven-times-instructs-followers

On June 15, 2024, as the Hajj pilgrimage takes place in Mecca, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei published on his X account a post featuring the Iranian regime slogan “Death to Israel” seven times – seven being the number of times pilgrims walk around the Kaaba in Mecca during Hajj.

Khamenei prefaced the repeated “Death to Israel” with the phrase “We answer Your call, Oh Allah, we answer Your call.” This is uttered by Hajj pilgrims as an expression of total submission to Allah and His will.

Thanks much better context, the rest is just… true so I was confused on if it’s a dude calling for the death of Israel or just a dude against zionistic imperialistic expansion of Israel into his country who is rightfully pissed.

But yeah, rabid dog pretty normal metaphor so I would give them the benefit of the doubt, not like weird hyper specific no one else would use that type metaphors/dog whistles/etc.

Anytime. Just in case clarification helps, Khamenei is the supreme leader of Iran, and Iran and Israel do not share a border.

(Strikeout was mentioned in the quote)

Neither do Britain and India… or Britain and Palestine… nor… a lot of places imperialism has sprawled to. To assume they stop the genocide at Palestine is silly.

I see no reason to subscribe to this theory.

Edit: and you were taking about expansion, not genocide…

I mean, the genocide is for expansion. They want Palestinians dead to take their land. There are forms of expansion other than occupying land: colonies and such, as I doubt they do actually expand physically that far.

Being an evil person doesn’t mean you’re wrong about everything just like being a good person doesn’t mean you’re right about everything

Sure, just like this statement doesn’t inherently mean they’re right either.
