The One is a private residence in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California, United States. It is a compound of a main residence and three smaller houses in the modernist style and was developed by Nile Niami. The property is 105,000 square feet (9,800 m2) on 3.8 acres (1.5 ha).
Construction began in 2014. Following delays, it was completed in 2021. Niami initially sought to sell the mansion for $500 million, but his company fell into bankruptcy and the building sold at auction for $126 million, a record auction sale price in the United States.
It’s owned by Richard Saghian who is a fast fashion douchebag.

I saw an article about how rich people build museums attached to their homes. They get a tax deduction from the building costs, and don’t have to pay property taxes on that part. They use them for private parties, weddings, etc.
They’re supposed to be open to the public, but of course nobody from the government checks into that. The reporter wasn’t able to get into any of them.
I’m assuming that’s what the “philanthropy wing” is about.
If you have to finagle a tax break into it, it’s a pretty weak ass show of wealth.
that is exactly how wealth operates.
Getting other people to pay for your shit is like 80% of being wealthy.
Look at Elon and his government subsidies, nfl owners and city subsidies for their stadiums they charge people 100s of dollars to enter, or Trump successfully getting rhe rnc to pay his legal fees.
Arm the homeless, forcibly take it over.
this house became notorious a few years ago from a truly obnoxious YouTube house tour the builder gave a knockoff Robin Leach, then for hosting massive covid-rule breaking parties.
the video is quite a watch if you can get through it, I hated everyone involved
the gall of this guy to act like his house is sustainable
also apparently hes bankrupt

It costs $50,000 a month in electricity costs to cool during the summer

Mine is like 100. So sustainable
Thanks. I hated it even though I only watched a few bits and pieces.
knockoff Robin Leach
Indeed.
A comment…
As someone who has driven past this house maybe 1,000 times, I can tell you IRL this place looks like a military compound or a museum, not a home.

Yeah I came here to recommend the video, it’s an absolutely incredible comedy as you watch a pathetic young money man try to pretend that he hasn’t wasted all of his money on hubris to an old money man that is constantly judging his terrible choices.

How much of the 3.8 acres is just driveway and parking lot?
Technically speaking it doesn’t matter because the philanthropy wing is a carbon offset.
I used to be a forklift driver in a warehouse that was 30,000 square feet smaller than this house
The One
I can’t remember anything
Can’t tell, is this the dining or gala wing?
Deep down these hallways I must scream.
The terrible home’s size swallows me!
Looks like #1, Biltmore Estate, got hit by hurricane Helene
I was on the CNN page for Milton and they had an update about what looked like a very out of place photo. I thought was a gigantic British estate (What the fuck is that???) and it turned out to be the Biltmore. And that caused me to go to Wikipedia.
The ouroborous is complete!
yeah, the patriarch that had it built was obsessed with developing the American aristocracy, specifically by aping the western European estate system. completely deranged, but wealthy beyond measure.
like those old estates and the mega homes built by other tycoons, it was impossible to maintain without a massive, expanding stream of cash expropriated from workers. so it was bought by some other rich bozos and turned into a tourist attraction that sanitizes the history of the tycoon’s family which I guess was part of the sale terms.
it’s completely stupid and out of place, and not even in an interesting way like Ca d’Zan, which also was another albatross and was eventually dumped on the state.
wait it has a lawn on its roof? wtf
I think it’s for golf practice.
Imagine spending fucking $100 million and you still don’t have any outdoor space and your house is completely surrounded by roads on every side.
This is the opposite of “location location location” the most expensive and psedo luxurious home possible but the air in your yard is 80% car emissions.
I was gonna say for 126m I’d get like a forest or a giant lab or something to do something with
that is so mid
It doesn’t even look big. What’s the point of all that space if you’re not showing it off?
looks like a fucking tumor against nature
This looks like the house they used to film Tony Stark’s mansion in the MCU. I wonder if this was developed by a bazinga-brain architect.
Is that name a blue curtain bazinga shoutout to the Matrix?
what part of the Matrix is that in I don’t remember it
It’s the vague prophetic title given to the yet-undeclared chosen one of destiny that wouldn’t need to dodge bullets.
