The Paris Agreement calls on us to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. To reach this goal, we need to reduce CO₂ emissions and remove existing CO₂ from the atmosphere.

    The most pertinent part of the equation is that it is not profitable on any timescale businesses consider relevant.

    It doesn’t matter what intrinsic value something has. What matters is how much value you can convince external parties to invest and commit .
