The Rebuke of Adam and Eve by Domenico Zampieri, aka Domenichino (1581 – 1641). The expulsion of Adam and Eve from the garden of eden was a popular subject in classical art, but this is a particularly bonkers OTT example. I’m not sure what’s going on with the weird flying kids (cherubim?), but I love the way the narrative sequence is spelled out so clearly. Adam is obviously saying “Hey, it wasn’t me dude, it was the girl.” and Eve is saying “The snake made me do it, honest boss.”

That horse looks very disappointed.
Is there a community for weird classical art?
