Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk and his centrist coalition government suffered a bitter defeat on Friday in parliament.

    His centrist coalition government voted to uphold the ban, so hardly a defeat.

    Barely anything they promised to change when they were getting us all hyped up to beat the conservatives got changed. And here we are, a year later and abortion is still a topic.

    So… next election we’re back with conservatives because centrists as always fail to change anything for the better.

      The coalition is a mix of left (Lewica), center (Donald Tusk’s KO) and center-right (Polska 2050, PSL).

      KO generally voted for the bill, it was PSL who voted overwhelmingly against it, which, together with PIS, made it so that the bill didn’t pass.

      There’s good reasons to hate Tusk, and I share a lot of them, but this one isn’t it. With the cards he was dealt, there wasn’t much he could’ve done.
