    A big reason the BC government is against this is because it would take a significant amount of land out of the timber harvesting land base for both BC Timber Sales and other licensees, which in turn directly affects revenue sharing agreements with local First Nations.

    If you see the BC Government oppose something like this, it’s almost always because there’s a First Nation somewhere who’s losing money and doesn’t want their agreements messed with.

    Probably worth mentioning that I work directly with such agreements and the decision makers who look at forestry and lands issues
