Shadow of mordor’s story is also just passable, but the nemesis system of both game is really something else. It’s a shame the system is trademarked.

Oh wow, patent was only granted 7 years after the game was released so the game will be 22 years old when the patent expires if not extended. Patent law is bonkers.

It’s because many of the iterations of the patent they tried to file were too similar to prior art in other games. Plus I’d hope 22 years is plenty of time to make a profit off of an idea you have lmao. Better that than 70 years after the crator’s death like copyright.

It’s the kind of thing that fit so well within this franchise because any uruk can be somebody and nobody at the same time, it won’t work well with most of WB other franchise. The only other game that could utilise this system well is Mad Max, so maybe there might be a chance?

Well now I’m retroactively annoyed they didn’t use it in the Mad Max game a few years ago. It was still really fun but that would’ve been a great addition.

Even on hard nemesis is something you can really avoid by picking who to fight with, and even by then it is not that difficult in Shadow of Mordor. They can surely sell the idea but the implementation in my opinion.
