Nice! I have a windows based handheld Ayaneo 2 but I ended up installing Chimera OS which is basically a linux clone of SteamOS and it’s way better without worrying about windows breaking things etc… So far the game compatibility is great as it uses Proton like the steam deck. Handheld gaming is fantastic as you can sit on the couch like using a switch but then dock it to your tv etc… and it’s like a console.
I bought Hades since it’s on sale right now and it runs really well. I’m even getting 60 FPS at 4k (external monitor) unless the screen gets super busy, but personally I don’t notice the frames drop down to 45 or whatever except for the number itself changing. What a fantastic game on a fantastic device.
My Steam Deck arrived today, time to tinker! And thanks @[email protected] for fronting the hosting costs of this instance.

Sorry I’m not familiar with Chimera OS at all. Do you find that there’s a lot of little papercut issues or does it work smoothly?
It worked well for me as long as the game was Linux/proton compatible.
Let us know how it goes. I’m super keen but probably gonna wait till gen 2.

Ooooh! Interesting! Hades isn’t super intensive is it though?
No not at all, and for that I’m grateful!
