Maybe I am venting a bit here. I am just a bit sad about few things I’ve lost with crg9. The fact that it lasted only for 4 years already sucks. Both monitors pretty similar in terms of proportions, same resolution, size etc. Obviously Neo brings great upgrades. Plus, I do 3d animations and stuff, amount of curviness helps a lot with software. It’s much better to look at and work with.
That said, some differences are just very unfortunate. Now whenever my monitor goes to sleep, waking it up is pain, waiting for every window in windows to snap back into it’s position, sometimes they don’t. Usb being recognized and soundfx go off every time. Waking up also bit slower (it’s most recent firmware). Waking up was super quick with CRG9.
Using preset buttons are now not as fun. It takes time, positions again reset and messes up things. It was instant on CRG9. I had full black stabilizer on one setting. When ever I had something too black and I couldn’t see, one button and it switches to preset in an instant. Pull button and instant eye saver mode, that’s also gone with Neo. I had 4 usb, was actually pretty handy. Neo has only 2. Colors and contrast is much better but now I have scanlines that never goes away.
Overall, Neo is a better monitor but I really miss my CRG9 sometimes. Thank you for reading my bitter sweet upgrade story.
