I studied in both the US and China and the Chinese university system isn’t the best. That’s great that they have had many research developments but I don’t think they will surpass Western scholarship unfortunately.
I will add my guangzhou friend thought British schools were horrible too so there’s that.
Guangzhou has not the best universities - the best are in Beijing, also Zhejiang University is quite well.
