My main accomplishment for today is that I pulled myself out of my doom / inaction / depresso / obsession spiral and made dinner rather than eating leftovers or toast (or worse, nothing).

Easy stir fry noodles, with frozen veg and some mock chicken and mock char siew I splurged on at Minh Phat the other day. Red rice noodles from my mum, and chilli-garlic-ginger paste premade using my own garden chillies (frozen while I was away).

Dinner on Sunday night was an epic effort of making three curries almost at the same time. Dal (with tadka made separately), tempeh/eggplant/capsicum dry fried with spices (first two items fried separately), and a decadant mock mutton coconut curry. All that exhausted me, far out.

Solid effort mate. Looks delish! Is that meal prep?

Also side note, nobody asked, but here’s my personal preference of veggie protein. Paneer (cottage cheese) > tofu > tempeh >>> soy chunks.

Former boss reached out to me last week to gauge my interest in returning to a place I worked at years ago.

He was the reason I left so I’m not sure how I feel. I gave them an exorbitant price tag for my return and some other conditions and let’s see what they say.

Been there, done that, good money, killed my mental health and relationships.

I’m not saying don’t do it, just make sure you can recognise the symptoms when it starts affecting other areas of your life.

        100%

Last time I left I had enough of the boss and his ways. That was discussed yesterday (not with him, but with my old colleagues that are still there). Apparently he’s changed a bit but probably not enough.

I remind myself why I left in the first place and that money ain’t everything.

I found a bank letter outside with no envelope and the replacement card missing (could see the imprint)… went over to my neighbour’s place to let someone know only to see a further bunch of her mail opened and strewn in a pile.

Fortunately I still had her daughter’s number and let her know in case someone was draining her mum’s bank account or stealing her identity. Then I gathered the other opened mail and hid it behind something so other people wouldn’t grab it. That’s so shitty. She’s a sick old woman. I found the original near my own letterbox so wondering if the pricks have stolen any of my mail 😰

Edit: To clarify the bank letter with the missing/stolen card was addressed to this neighbour. I went to talk to her family about it because a few years ago she had a stroke

I have a delivery with a wrong address, and need to click on an unrecognisable link to get it sorted. Also owe my linnkts account money. Oh and a missed call from Uganda.

Ebay wanted to know if I purchased a $900 gift card with my credit card, I did! But when I asked when it will be delivered to my chosen address the representative hung up on me. Terrible customer service.

Oh fun story update: the real estate agent didn’t even show up. Haven’t heard from him or the guy I called who said he’d get the guy to give me a call with an idea of what time he’d be here. Good job, MICM!

I don’t know exactly where it came from, I think someone may have said it came from reality TV, but something about the phrase “I love that for you” just hits me the wrong way. I understand the meaning and the sentiment, but it just hits my ear as condescending or with a hint of snark.

It’s supposed to be condescending isn’t it? Woops, I’ve always used “I love that for you” as a backhanded insult.

Otherwise I’d say “that’s amazing, I’m really happy for you!” if I was genuine.

    - I don’t quite feel 10 years younger, but I do feel way better than I have in the last 5 years. Nice, comfortable run with the doggo this morning, with Rebel Yell to help me up the hill.

      Hey great work!

Mine is currently… well… see the red bit? The bottom part of the red bit.

My Apple Watch actually gave me a “low cardio fitness” warning on the weekend during some exercise. But I’m working on it!

I’ve seen this dial thingy, but I don’t understand what it means nor what to do to “improve” it.
It told me I was 20 - so I figured it was full of shit anyway. 😂

Needed some shelving. Ordered from kmart. Kinda needed some other things, and wanted to get up to the free shipping threshold so I got some plastic drawers and a laundry hamper.

Meant to be delivered on the 15th, but the order couldn’t be picked up for some reason. Fast forward to today and it gets picked up and delivered… Everything except the shelving. The main reason for the order.

Bah. Refund was quick though. So that’s nice.

What style of shelving? Wallmount or freestanding?

I’ve decked 3/4 walls in my room with twintrack shelving. It requires screws in the walls but lasts forever and can be reconfigured. Bunnings sells it, shelvingshop.com.au is a bit cheaper (but you still have to go to Bunnings for the wooden shelf boards).

Of course not necessarily an option if renting.

ooo what’s the weight limit on their twintrack? I’m looking at putting some in the garage - not gonna be holding superheavy things, but would like a bit of beef.

edit: loool I look at their page and it’s literally all garage images good one leya.

Yeah, I’m renting. Went for a freestanding cheap thing with shoe compartments.

My room is also slightly larger than a walk-in closet, so I don’t have many free walls available anyway.

Got through first shift OK. Client was lovely and it was their first shift with the company as well.
Only problem was with the app - it wasn’t at all intuitive that there’s a little arrow icon that you have to press send to start so I didn’t realise that I was supposed to do that until I finished. Phoned the office to let them know and noted it in the notes and the client has to follow up a couple of things so she’ll let them know I showed up right on time, promise. 😂. Had a gap between shifts and home is between clients so I’ve stopped home to have a cuppa and lunch and check on the cats.

My job interview last week was hilarously bad. This is the low salary, no negotiating! We work from home on the down low because overseas HQ does not approve, it’s not in the company’s culture. You will be the only person in your team for all of AU and NZ, anyone who can support you is located overseas. There’s 4 (FOUR) rounds of interviews, so get ready! And don’t mention WFH in the interview with overseas HQ because they’ll get offended by the request. So many red flags, no wonder the job ad has been up / reposted for months.
