Hi I got my 15pro on the release day and now I’m wondering if i should get applecare+ or get an airpod instead. I’m wondering how much a battery replacement really costs and is it worth it to buy the extended warranty? Considering it also covers accidental damage

I just got apple care for the first time with my new iphone 15 pro so i can use it case less 75% of the time worry free. But it does really depend on your budget and use case of your phone

Only for things that you frequently bring with you. It wouldn’t be worth it for an Apple TV but definitely for AirPods.

I’ve always purchased AC on my phones, iPads, MacBooks, etc. for peace of mind, totally worth it to me.

However - I’ve never had to use it in like, a decade? So you could get away with it. That being said, I bet the first device I skip will have some sort of issue…I’m in too deep.

Case check, screen protector check I can trow my phone now without breaking it.

Double secured my phone so if they steal they cannot change anything without knowing the code. So I can track it where it is.

Cost 8€ Apple care+ around 300€ plus extra cost if you use the service.

I use iphone sins 3gs and never ever broke or lost one of them. All left my side in pristine conditions.

To me it’s not worth it. Someone breaks phone every week probably it is but you should reconsider your life choices.

Well, you won’t be able to listen to music with Applecare+, but you will with airpods.

    Which do you need?

It allows me to use my phone the preferred way, naked, and enjoy the millions dollars worth of design and materials put into making this iteration and not ruin it with $1.29 of plastic.

I bought both an iPad and iPhone about the same time. My iPad never leaves the house and has a very protective kiddie case. No Apple Care required for me. I rarely leave the house, my iPhone is in a protective case, but the phone is glass and I am clumsy. This is not a $12.97 Walmart burner! I have Apple Care. I always have it in a zippered pocket in cold weather or zippered hip bag in cooler weather. Still, I am clumsy and despite the excessive co pay, the Apple insurance gives me peace of mind. My iPhone is just for calls/text so there is zero personal information on the phone in case it is stolen. I have the Jango Radio app for music via Bluetooth and one game. I don’t use Apple email or messenger.

For me it is. Because the deductible is substantially easier on my bank account than the full price of the repair.

Also, I have AppleCare with loss and theft, it is cheaper than my insurance plan through AT&T

I don’t understand these posts. You won’t know if you got your money’s worth until you no longer use the phone that you bought coverage for. If you break your phone then yeah it’s worth it. If your phone works great until the day you sell it then it wasn’t worth it.

You alone have to decide if you’re ok paying for an insurance policy that you may never use.

    it’s subjective tbh

if u want to go naked, apple care is worth it. u will have a strong peace of mind. but generally u can go by without apple care with a strong case and screen protector.

but i would say apple care is very worth if its a macbook or airpods. macbook repair costs are extremely expensive without applecare. for airpods, getting a battery replacement is cheaper applecare than without.

Apple care is insurance. It’s not worth it until it is. If your phone breaks then you are going to wish that you had Apple care. Just because you never broke it in the past doesn’t mean anything. Bottom line are you willing to take the risk knowing that it will cost you several hundred dollars to fix or replace if you break and or lose it? Personally I buy Apple care because I don’t want to have to spend another 1200 dollars if my phone is lost or stolen. Or 600 of it breaks. For me it’s worth the cost to offset the risk.

It is a personal choice. Some people like having AppleCare, others don’t. If you tend to break electronic devices then get AppleCare, if not be careful with the device and save that money.

If you have to choose, you probably shouldn’t get either. Same as me because I am a student and I got an iPhone and even though I could have splurged for AirPods or AppleCare, I decide to save money and bought a protective case and tws earphones from OnePlus (they have good sound quality and battery life and okayish ANC, but more importantly they were 1/3 the price of AirPods and 1/4 the price of AirPods Pro). The only thing you’ll notice is that there’s no pop up animation when you open the earbuds case.

Like for all insurances, they are very expansive until an accident occurs. Considering the rising price of parts and labor for the latest iPhones, it makes more sense now to get the extra insurance. For my part I never get any of AppleCare until last year for my 14 Pro Max. It’s just some monthly $ that im paying to get rid of some stress
