You guys play games on the Deck?
Vigorously checks DeckyLoader updates
This is a daily ritual of mine. I check for system updates, then decky updates, then plugin updates, then for new plugins. Then I check animation changer for new animations(usually least excited by these these days), then audio loader, then css loader.
I don’t have a problem.
I don’t judge you for how you spend your time.
I appreciate that, but I do judge me, lol.
You don’t have a problem. Neither do I.
Sniffs vent
I went from this to just turning on the steam deck and playing whatever I left going last time (most recently Diablo 4).
My update run through happens every few weeks instead now
Not my case, fortunately. Yes, I’ve got the official dock. Yes, I’ve moved from 512 to 1tb microSD. Yes I’ve pushed the 64gb ssd to 256 and today 1tb, but that’s it. No screen protectors, skins, case, controllers, power banks.
I’ll admit that I don’t like screen protectors and skins, already have a badass power bank and multiple gamepads lol… plus for a limited amount of things I’ve got a 3d printer, so that’s another way around the issue.
Hmm I haven’t spent that much on accessories, but considering most of the steam games I’ve bought have been on sale for low prices, it probably still works out that I’ve spent more on the accessories overall…
For some reason, spending 50€ for a new controller feels cheaper than buying a 50€ game.
You could buy all of that and it still wouldn’t be half of what I spent on the desktop
I had to check over my shoulder since this seems so accurate.
But the simple point remains that I don’t really need to buy any more games since valve has been abusing my wallet for years and my steam library is 600 games.
I max leveled my deck and had go move over to a rog ally for more accessories and software jank battling.
It’s not fun if everything just works, lol
Por que no los dos?
I spent about the first two weeks customizing it, but I’ve settled in and use it for what it is. It’s a great couch gamer and the capabilities to play games that should punch way above its level are impressive.
I’ve probably spent as much or more money on my Deck than I ever did on Steam, and I haven’t even gotten it yet (tomorrow is shipping day!). The SSD upgrade and SD card alone cost as much as the base Deck (on sale)!
Most of my gaming has been on the Switch or PS5, but I’m excited for some portable PC gaming, emulation, and game streaming to the Deck. I used to be way into PC FPS games when I was younger, so I’m excited that the Steam deck can provide that Mouse & Keyboard feel with the touchpad (and/or gyro).
What’s your point?
Just find it funny that some people here probably spend more time tweaking their deck and upgrading to absurd amounts of storage (and then play vampire survivors, probably)
It’s capable of what it is capable of down to a very specific specification. Any complaints past that are dumb.
It’s like asking why your Kia Soul can’t traverse rough terrain, but then realizing it’s A KIA SOUL.
OP’s observation is pretty on point, I would say.
