Compared to Bluetooth:
- 60% lower power consumption
- Six times higher data transmission speed
- 1/30th the latency
- 7 dB improvement anti-interference for a more stable connection
- Twice the coverage distance, and
- 10 times more network connections
US won’t benefit from this tech due to the US Huawei ban.
This sounds like it’s proprietary. If it is, I doubt anyone will adopt it.
then I hope it never goes mainstream.
Wow, does this require a special chip on the device I assume? Would it use the same broadcasting hardware?
I’m guessing this would require a new specialized chip.
Plus 10x more Chinese State control and monitoring.
Companies based in China can, in fact, develop real technology. The US engages in more espionage thsn anyone, but that doesnt mean US companies can’t develop real tech.
There are real people and real innovations being made in China and it’s so wrong to just summarily dismiss them because they happen to live in a world power that does what all world powers do.
I hear you, and yet the CCP is it’s own special brand of shittiness, of which I cannot abide, or forgive.

So weird how people living under western regimes are more concerned about Chinese state control and monitoring than their own. If you live in a western country then your concern is that any western piece of technology is controlled and monitored by the NSA. But that’s just too complex an idea for you to wrap your head around I guess. Screeching China bad is your peak intellectual ability clearly.
Oh, I care about Five (Seven, Nine) Eyes every bit as much as I care about China, I assure you. But in a thread about a Chinese company’s new tech, it would be a bit weird to complain about NSA data mining. Kinda off topic, if you see what I mean.
The only thing weird here is bringing up non sequiturs about see see pee spying in a thread about new wireless tech, if you see what I mean.
I do. I’m with you on that. But it makes marginally more sense that bringing up the NSA would.
Shhhh US bad
I disagree that it makes any sense at all.
Well, it doesn’t really, except that you mentioned the US trade ban, which brings the reason for the US trade ban into the topic at least tangentially.
I mentioned trade ban in the context of this new technology not being available in US, jumping from that to the eViL SeE SEe PeE is spying on me is quite the leap there.
Lemmygrad?
checks profile
Yup
Every time
great retort there bud. you sure showed him.
seriously go back to reddit if all you got is childish insults.
There weren’t even any insults there, unless you think being a Lemmygrad user is one. Come to think of it, you may be onto something…
On a serious note: They’re also spreaing Russian propaganda about the war in Ukraine, which is enough to discredit them anyway. Did I say war? Of course I mean SpEcIaL MiLiTaRy fAiLuRe!
I’ll politely hijack this thread to ask: What’s wrong with lemm.ee? In all seriousnes.
I came to lemmy after the other site fiasco and found lemm.ee to be the most stable, fastest and also not defederated site at the moment for me. So i’m genuinely interested if it grew bad rep nowadays or something? Thank you.
There’s nothing wrong with it. The user you’re replying to is the only thing worse than a paid shill. An unpaid shill. Check out their post history and their identical alt accounts on other instances. Fully half the time of you see incredibly stupid shit anywhere on Lemmy… it’s them.
If you ever wonder what it’s like to be insane, just read the above comment.
If you’re to much of a little bitch to just accept the community note about what you really are then you’ll never rise up and claim the means of production. 😂🤣😂
Some of the worst liberal takes invariably come from lemm.ee along with lemmy.world these are the closest analogues to reddit communities in the lemmyverse.
Why is that weird? Western governments are generally bound by constitutional agreements to not utilize that information against their citizens. That’s not to say they don’t do shady stuff with that information, but getting “disappeared” is more the butt of a Hillary Clinton joke than it is an actual reality for Western citizens … unless you’ve really REALLY pissed off Hillary Clinton.
You should really read up on the revelations that we have from Snowden if you believe all that. Meanwhile, you should let people like Manning and Assange know about not having to worry that you’ll be disappeared and tortured if you say something your regime doesn’t like.
Ahh, yes, because they pissed off the Deep State, which is ultimately controlled by Hillary Clinton. Sorry, forgot about that one.
/s … if it wasn’t obvious
Because they published war crimes committed your regime, but let’s just ignore that and make an idiotic straw man instead. 👏
And your argument is cherry-picked. Which is worse?
It’s not, but you keep on digging there.
western regimes
Lol.
If it’s western it’s a country but if it’s Chinese/not western allinged it’s a regime?
I generally call democratic countries “countries” and I occasionally call undemocratic countries “regimes”.
Yes, most (all?) Western countries are democracies. Yes, China is not a democracy. What is your point?
Name something bad you think China has done, the US has done that but 10x worse
Harvesting prisoner organs to give to the wealthy/party members.
Executing people for things they’ve said.
Quartering party loyalists in Uyghur homes, particularly the forced co-habitation of Uyghur women with male party loyalists.
The list goes on because China is a totalitarian dictatorship, and the US, for all its many, many, faults, is not.
The main difference is that the US is mostly trying to be better, and China is actively embracing the crimes against humanity.
-
ah yes, the old Falun Gong lie
-
patriot act, red scare, CIA killing journalists etc
-
the entire united States of America is built on stolen land
As I said.
-
Generally, dictatorships are called regimes. Thus, China certainly qualifies as a regime.
Hell, the actual dictionary definition is as follows;
Regime, noun;
A government, especially an oppressive or undemocratic one.
So the US is a regime, got it
If you look at the age of Bluetooth and the fact that this new Technology has no Legacy and compatible Limitations this is not surprising at all. Probably not even feature complete with Bluetooth.
While I get everyone’s distrust of Huawei, Bluetooth is shit and I’d love a better replacement.
Here comes the tracking…
Don’t worry, NSA already tracks everything you do.
What if I’m not from the US
If you live in the west then you’re using US based tech and the NSA absolutely has access to all your data.
edit: LMFAO @ dufuses downvoting. US even spies on European leaders, anybody who thinks their data isn’t mirrored on a NSA server is dumb beyond belief.
Why are you screeching about the NSA in your own thread about a Chinese built technology?
How about instead of deflecting to the NSA, you post some merits of China and how they handle surveillance so that trust can be earned.
I’ll wait.
Because there is plenty of evidence that NSA spies on people living in the west while there isn’t a shred of evidence for that regarding Huawei devices. UK did a whole investigation into Huawei equipment and found nothing. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-huawei-europe-britain-idUSKCN1Q91PM
The fact that this needed to be explained to you really says volumes. Now go take a seat there champ.
Not a shred of evidence?
It’s literally codified in Chinese law that the government must have unfettered access to data and systems of any Chinese company.
I literally provided you a source my dude.
