The DPRK is ramping up defensive measures. They tend to have pretty good Intel so they must have caught wind of something worrisome.
Wasn’t the attempted coup going to blame the DPRK? The imperialists probably want to have the war go hot very soon (or at least be ready to do so whenever they attack China).
Thats my thinking too. The DPRK is getting ready for some serious aggression. I think they may attack the DPRK first and put China on the spot if they join in to protect them or not. To try and make China seem like an aggressor.
When you say they, do you primarily mean the U.S. or Occupied Korea?
I like to imagine that if/when the DPRK is attacked, that is an actual redline of China’s, and China will at least send some material aid.
I mean it could be either but it doesnt really matter since if its the South Koreans then its just a proxy war with the US anyway as thats a US vassal. If the Ukraine war is ending soon they may be looking to start another proxy war to funnel weapons into.
As for China i think people need to remember history. Theres an important reason why China refused to let them take Korea the first time. Korea is where the Japanese invaded from. Into Manchuria. China rightfully sees it as a very strategically important region, and the people in China remember what happened the last time Korea was occupied completely. I do not think there is any scenario where China allows Korea to be occupied by the west. They may not intervene immediately, but if it looks like the DPRK will fall China would likely bring their entire military to bear against anyone trying to invade Korea. It isn’t just A red line its like THE red line. China would probably fight off the entire world to keep Korea independent if thats what it took. Because they see an occupation of Korea as step 1 in an invasion of China itself.
I agree with you, that Korea’s security is almost as important as China’s.
I’m curious about your opinion of China’s redlines around Taiwan Province, though. How they compare to China’s redlines around Korea. You seem more knowledgeable about this than I am.
Im more well read when it comes to their opinions then on their actual military capabilities. I do know that they have some amphibious landers they are making that could allow them to land tanks on taiwan in areas otherwise thought impossible. They have long bridges that can scale steep coastlines. I also know that their naval capabilities are quite good. The Chinese have displayed an ability to defeat US ships and secure control over their local seas atleast partially.
Theyve had some skirmishes with US ships where they were able to blind them electronically, and the chinese destroyers can take on US destroyers 1 v 3 and win. The Chinese destroyer is supposedly the most advanced naval vessel on earth. They also have much more naval production capabilities.
That being said stuff like this is really hard to see the full picture on without access to classified info.

The attempted coup was going to blame the DPRK, and what’s scary is how close it was to succeeding. It was supposedly only stopped because of massive citizen protests, and the douchebag who started it was incompetent.
