How to get out of an uncomfortable egg culture situation with this one simple trick.

Real talk: Calling people eggs is a violation of the egg prime directive, and is considered invalidating as you are trying to say that a person is not the gender they identify as, that their identity is invalid. Don’t call people eggs, like ever, it’s extremely uncool.

Imma be honest… all the options are kinda shid. makes the other person feel terrible. i get it, calling peeps egg is bad. i have made personal experience with that. but responding like that just seems uncomfy and toxic to me.

I’d agree in most cases where someone does it without knowing, though in those cases where people are persistent and keep going after being asked to stop a strong or even hostile response like this one may be unfortunately necessary. Kind of like intentional misgendering ya know.

I think the golden rule of using any kinda identity based label is generally to just call people the label they use for themselves

Obviously doesn’t apply to labels that are offensive and are being used by an in-group to take ownership of them, but still

Unfortunately there are a lot of people, including other trans people, who will insist that even if it is a trans man. It mostly comes from radfem types that view trans men as ‘joining the enemy’, and they usually accuse femboy trans men of transitioning in order to selfishly escape society’s misogyny.

Source: me, a very femme transmasc person who has had this thrown at me both online and in person, even in queer spaces.
