Sega has recently filed trademarks for Skies of Arcadia and its Japanese counterpart Eternal Arcadia, sparking speculation about a potential revival of the beloved RPG.

Eh, I often hear about the trademark renew but it means nothing. Skies of Arcadia is good but I don’t see a remake happening.

Yeah, I mean it was a “good” game, but I don’t remember it being amazing or anything. Was this game a huge deal with people?

Honestly, if they just used the IP to make an Open World game where you base build on your airship and upgrade/manage/craft stuff, I could see it being a hit these days.

Yeah exactly. I remember really liking it as a kid but never finished it. Grandia II was my jrpg of choice on Dreamcast. But I’d check out a modern open world take on the Skies of Arcadia IP.

I think it’s famous because it was first released on Dreamcast, and than released once again on GameCube, where there is not many JRPGs. Besides, the game is expensive nowadays.

I’d love a remake. Not on the level as FFVII or Residential Evil. But just polish some of the rougher edges would be nice.

As long as they don’t try to turn it into a live service game like they announced they’re doing with Crazy Taxi.

I really don’t see them doing anything with the property. It’s one of my favorite RPGs of all time, but it’s still incredibly niche. They’d have to do a crazy marketing push to get ROI on anything they did with it.
