I bet every $100 in a billionaires account is someones life destroyed in some poor country.

I believe the standard theory is at a certain threshold success is measured by those you have stepped on to climb higher. I’m not sure there’s a set benchmark worth but I can guarantee you by the time you hit a billion you have for sure negatively impacted someone’s life to get where you are.

Excess wealth needs to be banned but for it to truly work the majority of people need to see it and sadly we live in a world where too many people see themselves as embarrassed billionaires simply waiting for their opportunity.

I make damn good money. I have more in common with the man begging on the corner than I do with Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, et al. More people need to come to terms with that reality.

$100,000,000 that’s it. At that point we give you a gold “I won capitalism,” trophy, and you either retire, and are taxed at 100% of assets above $100,000,000 or, you don’t and are taxed at 100% on assets above $100,000,000. This applies to both liquid and non-liquid assets.

Also you can leave your children $5,000,000 in total assets per child over your entire lifetime. The rest of your estate goes into The Sovereign Fund for Humanity’s Poor.

I’d argue that’s still way too high. Hell even 10$ million is potentially still too high lol

First rule of capitalism is that it’s morally fine if you earn money out of it AND you’re rich.

It’s only murder if you can’t afford to defend yourself in court … or if you can literally buy off the police … or the judge … or the entire court system … or the state … or even buy the entire country’s government

Switch the top and bottom panels. Leave the “dead patient” panel labeled as ‘murder’. Re-label the “dead CEO” panel as ‘self-defense’.

Murder is just illegal homicide; being justified doesn’t make it legal. This is one of the many many many misalignments of legality and morality.

If his life was in danger, or he knew someone who was being denied claims that had died or their life was threatened, and he knew that the death of the CEO would lead to saving the lives of said victims, then its justifiable homicide.

But if his medical bills were paid for (they were), and he had no immediate relations being denied life-saving treatments (which he didn’t), and he had no personal connection to United Healthcare (he was never insured by them), and he had no logical reason for believing that killing Brian Thompson would suddenly cause all insurance companies to massively improve rates of claim approval (he had no reason for believing this), then its not justifiable homicide: its just plain murder.

This guy thinks Mussolini didn’t deserve to be hanged

Unless he just wants to admit that he thinks murder is okay when you do it from a boardroom.

                Uh huh.

How many people do you think someone needs to kill while being above consequences before you will stop wringing your hands and whining that the person who stopped them didn’t ask for permission to do something?

I’m against the death penalty as a function of the legal system, but when the legal system is no longer effective other means become necessary.

Yes, please. The white washing here is ridiculous. There’s no way this CEO is responsible for only a single death.

No amount of “let them eat cake” tier commentary is going to stop it. Because the core problem is that the rich own everything.

Propaganda of the Deed doesn’t work. However the spectacle has created some level of class consciousness. The organizing we are seeing seems to be around memes. Hopefully this momentum doesn’t end. People are still talking about Harambe and how Epstein didn’t kill himself. Dropping it is unlikely. Sorry it makes you uncomfortable.
