Tweets made from anonymous account with nine followers, focused on unemployment, inflation, mismanagement of resources, release of political prisoners.
Why as American we should be not friends with that country and should be huge sactions of them.
But nooo we give them money and weapons.
It’s honestly appalling.
We built some gas turbines for them at Siemens and trained a few of their people for a new factory we had to build in Riyadh as part of the turbine deal. The individual people we were training were nice enough but it felt like morals just went out the window when the Saudi money showed up.
Meanwhile cuba is still embargoed, lol.
This nation is a joke.
It’s so weird how the US cut ties with Russia when the war started, but still remains friends with a country like this. Somehow I feel like western countries only care about human rights violations if the victims are other westeners.
His tweets, seen by Middle East Eye, focused on unemployment, inflation, and government mismanagement of resources and called for the release of political prisoners.
And the Saudi government responds by sentencing him to death. Why are they so scared?
Because common sense is a threat to the current political system.
Conservatives have a deep need to oppress others. When criticized, the natural conservative response is to lash out. Killing citizens is a typical way conservatives maintain their oppressive governments.
Conservatism is a global plague in desperate need of a cure. It has no place in a modern culture or government.
I think that the word “authoritarian” would fit better here.
So, authoritarian conservatives then.
that sounds like a completely fabricated justification to execute someone.
Elon promised that he’d cover the legal costs to fight this right?
Haha. In a case like this, in Saudi Arabia, legal costs are basically just a way to give money to Saudi lawyers so they can pretend to be busy. Also, Musk probably doesn’t want to draw attention to the fact that the Saudi government is the co-owner of X/Twitter.
Sounds interesting what’s the source for this?
Edit: I can hear Elon’s excuse now: “I said people ‘fired’ over tweets, not ‘fried’.”
The same country that arrested Murtaja Qureiris (13 at the time) over anti-government protest charges; he’s facing the death penalty possibly by crucifixion.
The whole thing is revolting and the fact that tax dollars go to that country is despicable.
death penalty by WHAT???
This shit belongs in history books, not today’s courts.
Garbage country. We should 100% cut ties with them.
But the oilz! We needed. Give us the precious. We give youz the cosign, yessss.
What a weak ass government looks like
