Even years later, this episode is still a trip.
Like, the first time I saw this episode, I was absolutely giving her the benefit of the doubt until 1/4 into it.
I’ve seen it a couple of times, and I can sit and watch it again. These people are out of their minds, and it’s interesting to watch an episode where even Gordon Ramsey is at a loss. I’m not a big fan of the show, and I haven’t watched that many episodes, but I can’t imagine that it’s common for him to just say “I can’t help you” and walk away.
For what it’s worth, the UK version of the show has a completely different vibe and I rewatch it frequently. Most of the restaurant owners mean well, and Gordon’s kind and patient with them. There are a few stubborn or delusional ones, but all the drama exists naturally without the breakneck American editing. Really a quality show.
I’ve never really watched either beyond a few here and there. Is the UK version on BBC without commercials? Just curious if the breakneck American editing is due to having to shave off 20 minutes to fit in all the ad breaks.

No, it is because there has been an escalating trend in the US of invoking emotional responses by making every single thing in ‘reality’ shows overly dramatic. US reality show audiences really love conflict and most of these shows repeat clips multiple times to pad out the show, not because they are pushing a time limit.
Makes sense. Reality shows aren’t really my thing, so I only ever see individual episodes that get a lot of buzz (like this one). Though watching it on YT, I just assumed the repeated clips were just recaps from before the commercial breaks.
I don’t watch them either, unless my wife talks me into it. They really are getting worse over time too.
I hate the person who told tv execs to copy the last scene before an ad break and then paste it right after the ad break with a burning passion. It’s such a colossal waste of story time.
The UK episodes are 48 minutes long. I’ve only ever watched pirated versions, so I’m not sure about commercials. The “American editing” I’m referring to is the quick cuts and dramatic music. It also seems like the producers ask Gordon to play a short-fuse asshole. On the UK version there’s a lot of cheeky banter, and in general there’s not much animosity between Gordon and the owners.
Yeah, I never really watched the show much except this episode. Like you said, I’ve seen this one multiple times.
I gotta compliment Ramsay’s brass balls for, having already seen how she reacts to criticism, again giving her the straight truth while she’s that close to the knives:
🤣🤣🤣
Actually, it is moderately common, but then he has a walk around the block, the owner has an emotional moment with the camera, they speak to Gordon “off camera” (it’s still on camera), and they reconcile as the episode continues.
This is when it all became real. These people vote
I think he voted for netanyahu and she did for tRump.
Fun fact: Amy and Samy are divorced as of 2022. Also he got deported in 2018 and now lives in Israel.
Apparently all the baked goods actually just came from Trader Joe’s, the cake was a lie
It’s like listening to a Trump debate. Everything is a lie and everything is out to get her.
Miranda and the other workers there have insane patience… Not being able to touch the POS machine when Sammie can’t work it, not getting tips, getting shit back from Amy whenever they relay information back to her … Wow
I remember them a lot.
