Summary

The FDA found bacteria-contaminated water and mold at a facility making Tom’s of Maine toothpaste.

Dangerous bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Paracoccus yeei, were found in water and some toothpaste batches.

These bacteria can cause serious infections. No recalls have been issued, but the FDA has requested action from the company.

Colgate-Palmolive is working with the FDA, adding safety measures, and says its products remain safe.

In pretty sure both Republicans & Democrats are deregulating the everliving shit over there for 60+ years - and they carry on the work of the previous admin even when the parties in power switch. You have a clear history of that.

Only the rhetoric on said topic is slightly (but not that much) different.

I stopped at the same time when their deodorant suddenly gave me severe chemical burns. Many people complained and nothing ever happened. Fuck Colgate.

This has literally happened to me with all the brands I used to buy. Sold to a huge international company and the product skyrockets in price and plummets in quality. I actually changed to Arm & Hammer Essentials Deodorant and it’s better than Tom’s. Quite a shock for a large company.

I tried theirs and it just didn’t last the whole day… Went through a ton of “natural” ones, even went on Etsy and tried some coconut oil and arrowroot based ones. They all sucked. Bulldog had one that was excellent, but they stopped selling it in the US. Native’s has been actually decent. Been using it for a couple years now. Works all day unless I’m really working hard. Also, I get to smell like cake.

Man I already need to find a new coffee brand since the one I like dropped off the face of the earth, now I need to find a new toothpaste too. It’s the week of changes for me it seems! If I had hair I’d try a new hairstyle lol

Check out your local roasters! After you ask what toothpaste they use, they might also be able to help with your coffee problem.

Might I suggest Zapatista Coffee? It supports the Zapatista movement/schools in southern Mexico. Basically a bunch of folks who are creating decentralized mutual aid networks as the basis for society.

The coffee is quite good, from what I’ve heard.

I enjoy Bones coffee, if you’d like a recommemdation. They have a sample bundle so you can try their different flavors without committing to a whole bag. Lots of coupons available online too.
