From what very little I know about Myanmar it seems like both coalitions of many smaller sides claim to want democracy.

The one that existed before the military coup had a 2008 constitution which gave each individual zone autonomy but the insurgent military wanted to tear up that constitution and make a federal governing body.

I kind of wonder if this is just another proxy war and we’re unfortunately pushing other people into conflicts for the benefit of one of the three world powers.
