Every time there’s an article of a report confirming “yes, this looks, smells and feels like a genocide”, there’s always a statement of “nuh uh it’s not” included from the government perpetrating it.

Like if someone is accused of murder or manslaughter, does the news get a statement from the accused and publish them saying “uh, no I didn’t, he probably just tripped and fell” or something?

Actually, yes. It happens quite often that the papers print that someone was arrested or stands trial but claims to be innocent.

I mean… Yes? That seems like a very basic fact for them to report.

That is true, but the article gives a very significant chunk for the Israeli government to excuse themselves when typically the statement would be at the end.

What would you expect them to say? Has there ever been a government in history that committed a genocide and admitted to it while they were doing it (without having lost a war to an invading army)?

It don’t expect them to say differently, I expect the press to write the statement at the end very briefly rather than so thoroughly and prominently in the middle.

This is what happens when you act with absolute impunity and ignore international law.

This creates a very serious precedent in history, when other parties can think that they can act the same way. International law exists for a reason!

What was it Trump said? “Finish the problem” or something like that. I guess they are taking his advice now that they have a green light.

Stop using Palestinians as a political tools . Both parties aren’t calling for stopping arming Israel which is what allows Israel to finish the job

Yes because both parties have unconditional support for Israel. Everytime Israel escalate, america invest in Israel security to make them escalate even more

Sure bud. Democrats weren’t great, but if you sincerely think both parties are the exact same then I can’t help you. I’m guessing the West Bank genocide is going to move by along a lot faster now

Stop using week words like not great. The only word that should be used is complicity. The only way to slow the genocide is stopping arming Israel which neither parties would.

I’m telling you, the republicans are worse. This is going to get much worse much faster. Maybe I’m naive, but I personally believe that if everyone showed up to vote, and democrats won big, and had a wide gap in the house, that they would have pushed back against Israel

Who gave the biggest military deal ever to Israel? Oh yeah it was Obama a Democrat. Don’t get me wrong, I believe Trump is really capable to give them even more military aid but Harris too. Instead of debating who is worse maybe we should consider what actions we can do now like intensifying the boycott mouvement

Do you realize that the Democrats have been in power the whole time this full on genocide has been taking place?

Democrats were the ones giving false ultimatums.

Democrats were the ones making excuses and giving the green light.

They’re exactly the same on this issue. Do you think Democrats have held Netenyahu back at all?

                I do actually

I think once trump is back in office you’ll get to see how fast the human grinding machine can go

I’m disappointed in all of you

Why would you not vote for the democrats, to mitigate harm, and then after the election continue to organize and protest and raise hell. You can like totally do both. . Well, you could. We’ll see going forward

This article isn’t about an escalation. They have been actively committing acts of genocidal mass murder for over a year.
