Its the same game as the last few. They have made no actual gameplay additions, its becoming a lazy scam every year. Adding a reskinned crop isnt new gameplay.

Verifiably false. First of all, they don’t even release a game every year. Last one was Farm Sim 22. Before that it was 19.

There have been lots of gameplay additions from adding whole industries like logging and ranching to the game. Not to mention the graphics and physics improvements.

It’s not just reskinned crops and a number bump. But hey, this game clearly isn’t for you.

I criticised your favourite game, so it must not be for me.

I have played 4 of the Farming Sim games, and the last 3 have had hardly any improvements to the sim, other than some graphics and gameplay taken from mods. There’s so much they could add to the simulation, but they don’t and 3 years is quite a long time to iterate.

It’s not my favorite game but your post was so egregiously wrong I thought you must have known nothing about the game itself and just made bad assumptions.

3 years is quite a long time to iterate.

I cannot even shape my head around your comment here. In your head one year isn’t enough time to make any significant changes to a game but three years is quite a long time?

Anyway, you admitted you were wrong and/or lied and that’s enough for me.

Other than the yearly part (time flies, my bad), it was all subjective. If you consider fog a meaningful update, then sure, go have fun buddy.

I’ll probably wait for a sale.

And yeah, I’m not going to be upset that people don’t like the game. It’s not even my favorite game. Even I think it’s stupid sometimes. But for a relaxing turn my brain off and chill experience, it does that pretty well.

We could argue whether the updates and improvements are worth it, and that’s a valid argument, but you admittedly have never purchased it nor will you purchase it. And that’s fine. Enjoy something else, buddy :)

Correct, I have not purchased Farming Simulator 25 and probably won’t. I might play it on game pass like I did for FS22 in a couple years. I have nothing against the game at its core, I sunk countless hours in to FS17, I just expected there to be actual meaningful (to me) upgrades by now, so it feels like Giants is taking the piss.

Yeah. And if we’re being honest, I don’t like the Season Pass nonsense. Oh yay, 2 extra tractors and a harvester that probably should’ve been in the base game.

I think FS19 was my “countless hours” version. I did like the FS22 improvements, but since all my mods didn’t work initially it felt like a step backwards.

I’m sure the people who play pro/competitive Farming Simulator will try to argue the differences between the yearly versions. And how the minor gameplay tweaks change the meta.

Thats fine, but if that is their focus, they should rename it to Competitive Farming or something instead of Farming Simulator.

I would argue that having to extremely overpay for the same thing every year is pretty accurate to how farming works. Especially with companies patenting seeds now.

I don’t even understand why a game like this needs a yearly release. Farming doesn’t evolve that quickly. I mean, the devs of the Trucking Sim games don’t need to release a new game every year, because trucking doesn’t evolve they quickly, either. So what’s their excuse, other than pure greed?

It’s not a yearly release. The last one was Farming Simulator 22, so it’s been three years. Before that it was 19, another 3 years.

I know it’s easy to hate on Farm Sim but yearly cash-grab releases is not one of them.

I pirated it a few years back, played for an hour, got bored and uninstalled.

If it’s not a yearly release, then why label it as such? Just call it Farming Sim 9.

It’s just the year of release or thereabouts. Lots of software does this, even without yearly release. Microsoft Office did it, for example. But it’s actually pretty common with simulation games. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Car Mechanic Simulator 2021. Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022.

It’s strange that EA has poisoned our minds about putting the year in the title from their obvious yearly slop.

Also, I don’t blame you for not liking the game. It’s not for everyone. Not like I’m going to be upset by that XD

A yearly release would be fine if they actually upgraded the simulation, proper interactable interiors, more realistic crop simulation, better weather, realistic animal simulation (its literally just a menu), etc, etc, etc.

The collectors edition even includes modding tutorials, because they want modders to do their work for them.

All they do every year is upgrade some graphics to bring it in line with games from 2009. It is, as you say, a cash grab.
