I’m sure the people left on the Titanic appreciated learning why it’s important to bring enough lifeboats for everybody but it probably didn’t bring up the mood that much overall.

Harris, Biden, and Clinton are not progressives. The DNC shut out a popular progressive in 2016 and learned nothing then. D voters as a whole are too quick to dismiss anyone that might be a threat to their main candidate. Of course, Sanders running independent in 2016 would’ve secured an even more humiliating loss for Clinton. But it would’ve steered us toward a more productive conversation by now, and Trump likely wouldn’t have won a second term, or probably even another nomination. Instead, let’s move to the right and try to appeal to those “moderate”/“swing” voters.

I don’t think Biden would’ve won without Trump’s (mis)handling of the pandemic. There’s certainly misogynists out there that would never vote for a woman, but the pandemic was the other major differentiator. The DNC is fine with serving their donors with the most appealing not-Trump puppet, rather than getting a candidate that the citizens genuinely want to vote for.

The Democrats are definitely the party of elites: celebrities, experts, academics, artists, and intellectuals. While many of these people are relatively wealthy, their status as an elite is not defined by their wealth. Unlike the Republicans who prioritize wealth over essentially all else. But it does not necessarily require great expertise, academic success, or intellect to become very wealthy. The Democrats are the smart, cool, accomplished, and popular kids, the Republicans are the ultra rich weirdos.

I don’t think the “average” person really likes either of these groups. The Democrats are the party of the people who think they are the smartest and most important people in the room, and they may be right but that attitude is very off-putting. And, again, the Republicans are extremely rich and they are insane.

I don’t understand at all why anyone would want to vote for the ultra rich weirdos, but I do understand why people wouldn’t want to vote for someone who thinks they are more beautiful, more talented, more successful, more intelligent, and more accomplished than you, even if it is true.

It is yet another chance for the the GQP to ruin themselves. Maybe Trump/Musk/Bezos etc. tear shit down and cause such destruction and chaos that their reputations are destroyed forever.

Evergreen comment, I know, but maybe THIS time people finally snap out of it. It could be uncomfortable enough.

It took me too long to realize this wasn’t satire. Has this man been in a coma since 2016?

Not a single mention of a failed Biden campaign followed by a failed Harris campaign. No mention of slate of policies that panders to people without actually connecting to people. No mention of a party that picked a candidate that was convirnt and not one up to par to deal with the anxieties of people who wanted to vote but were left with a blowhard and a robotic party that just doesn’t listen.

Somehow this is about college protests, diversity, and anti-police policies. That’s the fucking take aways. Progressive should have left the party in 2016. They’ll blame us for losing all the elections regardless.
