I’ve been out here two and a half months now and it really do be like that. Prosperity everywhere.

Next week it’s Xinjiang baby! Every Chinese person I’ve mentioned it too gets really excited. They consider it the most beautiful part of China and the food there is meant to be e excellent. They are quite upset about the western narrative about the “genocide” and very pleased to hear that I don’t buy it at all. That has won me a lot of free drinks and cigarettes.

I like how you chose to spend the hottest 2 and a half months not in cool Xinjiang, but likely the hot regions, and then go to Xinjiang just as temperatures get reasonable elsewhere in China

I never claimed to be a smart person.

And yeah, July in central China was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I genuinely believe I’ve sweated more in the last two months than in the rest of my life combined.

Apparently Xinjiang is known for its great fruits. I’d be excited to visit anywhere with such a reputation. I watched a Xinjiang travel video with two scottish people who were so happy to be in a place with Kebab after traveling for so long that they had it 10 times in one day. They said the Kebab was as good as anywhere in the middle east. Uighur culture also seemed super welcoming and kind, I think you’ll have a great time.
