I think it’s fine, there’s hardly any posts currently.

I have a 5800X3D, 3090, and 32GB of RAM which gets me 40-50 fps with the game at 4K with ultra settings and downscaled to 1440p on a Gsync monitor. I run FSLTL for traffic, and sometimes it’ll get down to 30 fps at a busy airport. It’s a heavy game for sure, but 30 fps is actually fairly tolerable as long as it’s consistent.

Mind that you absolutely don´t need 4k ultra settings to be able to enjoy the sim though! As long as you have a CPU with devent single thread speed, enough ram and a GPU with a bit of vram, you can still run it at medium or high and it will be just as fun.

Very very true. I’m running the sim on my 6 year old PC I built. It’s got a 7700k with a 1070 GTX and 32GB of RAM. Runs the sim impressively well at 1440p and medium and high settings. Blows me away it’s doing as well as it is. I’ve got nearly 500 hours in the sim too and performance has really never been an issue for me (it hasn’t detracted from my overall enjoyment of the sim).

All good as far as picking a post goes for your question; it’s early days and we all have simple questions we could use answers to!

Need? Actually not too bad. I used to fly with a 1660ti with no real issues and a cheapo X52 HOTAS. Heck you don’t even need a joystick you can fly with Kb and mouse if you want.

But now, I’m using a velocity one HOTAS with a trackIR head tracking and an AMD 6750 so I can run in 4k and it’s absolutely beautiful and super immersive.

The FlyByWire A320 mod is absolutely fantastic. It’s opened up an entire new level of depth to the sim, and the integration with SimBrief/Navigraph charts is a QoL dream. I can get a flight plan generated, loaded to MCDU, filled with pax/cargo and ready for takeoff in just a few minutes now. Been doing lots of ~1.5h hops around Europe to get a bunch of experience with setup and takeoff/landing. I’ve done a few flights in the ATR as well, but I mcuh prefer the EFB and sound effects of the FBW A320.

I’m thinking 787 next, as I haven’t learned any Boeings yet and I have the premium deluxe edition.

I just took my first full IFR flight successfully yesterday with VATSIM ATC all the way yesterday and it was just amazing, with the FBW 320. The flyPad integration with VATSIM was so freaking convenient and I haven’t even plumbed all the depths of the pad yet.

Question for you, when you load PAX, how do you do that? I get a jetway connected but how do you get people to board or is that just a faux element?

If any airliner is a good pick for introducing you to them, it´s the a320!
