I’ll give the first person to prove me wrong a whole 1 dogecoin, Starfield is only going to be a 5/10 at best. Baldur’s Gate 3 may release as 7/10, but with Definitive Edition it becomes a 9/10.
But… Baldur’s gate and Starfield are completely different games that dont really appeal to the same audience? I dont really see the comparison here besides they both have rpg elements… which is like 8/10 games these days.
I mean they are very much dlfferent games beside being RPGs the premise of space exploration and the premise of a modern DnD game scratch completely different itches
August 3 is the new release date if anyone was wondering (initially planned August 31)
Given that it’s been publicly testable for so long, bringing forward the date sounds good to me, probably has more to do with Starfield tho.
Sorry for maybe a little too much BG3 coverage, I am currently playing Divinity Original Sin 2 and I’m fairly excited for what BG3 looks like it will be.
It’s been in early access for a while, so I’m fairly confident about this one, that being said I am also optimistic about Starfield.
I’m not sure about how this is going to be on release. They added a TON of mechanics, spells, feats, subclasses fairly recently and haven’t had much time to test it (at least through early access). Not to mention the level cap has been 5 or 6, and at release it’ll be 12 (I think I read that somewhere).
Don’t get me wrong, I’m going to play the hell out of this game and I’m really looking forward to it.
However, the sheer amount of content being added recently, and then moving up the release date has me concerned.
Edited cause my fat fingers suck at typing on my phone, i.e. spelling.
It feels more like to me the Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition update.
I think the early game will be very polished. Lord knows people have been testing it for quite some time.
It’s the mid to late game that I worry will be utter chaos. I’m fully expecting broken builds (probably both good ones and very bad ones), balance issues, and various oddities that come up as we get towards the late game.
I do reserve the right to be completely wrong though, and I hope I am!
It’s a DnD game. If it didn’t have broken builds and massive balance issues, I’d riot. There’s no greater feeling than curbstomping enemies with a bard/red dragon disciple/blackguard in NwN, or a Cleric/Thief or Ranger/Cleric multiclass in the BG games.
BG3?! Awesome, BG2 for me started in gaming. Thought it was a dead franchise.
