Makes sense. My favorite part in the bible is when Jesus, upon amassing tremendous wealth, chiding the poor, and violating the sanctity of marriage multiple times, is persecuted by the Romans. Second coming anyone?

Currently, the law prohibits political campaign activity by charities and churches by defining a 501©(3) organization as one “which does not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.” IRS.gov

Lord of Hosts World Outreach Inc. in Omaha, NE is a 501©(3) organization. So what they are doing here is categorically illegal. Why does it never seem shit like this is investigated? Why isn’t the headline even mentioning this is a crime? What the FUCK.

edit: How do I, as an individual, get this into court? I want the right thing to happen here. I don’t believe in “tax the church” because there are plenty of religious adjacent institutions that employ non-religious individuals who provide powerful needed services and jobs to their communities. But this is crippling that good will and leaving this specific church untaxed leaves precedent for a continuation of the long cycle of abuse.

It’s amazing what these people will overlook for their single issue: abortion. Of course, this strain of religious grifters have long been entirely devoid of ethics. As far as ‘pro-life’ though, they’re giving Trump credit for something orchestrated by many other people.

It has been legally shown he paid for one, which is higher than average.

Trump paid for something, though? Maybe… at the least he surely demanded that women have abortions and and probably threatened them over it.

“The hand of God is on him and he cannot be stopped.”

So in the 2020 election where Trump lost was the ‘hand of god’ not on Trump and that’s why he lost or was ‘hand of god’, all-powerful, beaten by the electorate?

Which is it? Was the ‘hand of god’ on Biden in 2020 instead, or was the all-powerful god powerless to stop Biden getting elected?

My mother has posted multiple times how god can even use a donkey and that the man doesn’t have to be perfect for god to use him. She’s completely hand waved away the fact that trump is a paragon of the anti-Christ because ‘god can use anyone’. She’s also convinced that all the conflict in the US is just signs of the times that the second coming is imminent.

Evangelicals literally don’t care what trump has done or will do. Trump was right that he could shoot someone in the head in the middle of the street and his supporters wouldn’t care.

I genuinely believe there is a disturbingly substantial portion of the right wing that scientifically recognizes the threat posed by the climate crisis but believes it’s just God’s instrument for the end times, so not only is it not a problem but it’s actually a good thing to perpetuate.

Funny you say that, because I can’t count how many times I’ve heard evangelicals talking about the antichrist every time a Democrat gets elected. But Trump is the right hand of the Messiah, of course. Lol. I can’t believe this is real life.

This is my cue that I need to stop looking at Lemmy for a while. Guess I’ll fire up a game and listen to a podcast. See ya later, folks.
